Breaking The Rules Of Composition
Balance
"Just look the other way and put your problems behind you" I really hate this type of photo, it jest feels so wrong to place a subject that's looking right on the rightmost third. Personally I feel that doing this can ruin the balance and an entire photo and make your eye stray from looking at the other side of the photo. In the photo Nathaniel and Meghan are facing away from the empty void behind them and acting as if nothing is there which is why I chose this caption.

Lines
"When everything is going the wrong direction don't be afraid to turn and set things straight" This photo breaks the rules of lines by having many different directions converging in odd places, nothing runs parallel with the edge of the frame, none of the converging/ diverging points meet where the thirds cross and your eye just doesn't know where to look.

Framing
"When life gets stuck in a dead zone, remember times keeps going and you will be freed eventually" Before I talk about how this breaks the rules I want to mention how this caption is real and meaningful. The stick Nathaniel is holding was actually there when we started shooting, I chose that caption because I wondered how long the stick had been stuck there and I thought that this picture would really help express the caption. When it comes to the rules this takes the rules of symmetrical, balanced framing and throws them out the window, the 2 trees are different thicknesses and not entirely in frame, the stick divides Nathaniel's face and the image is focused on the 'frame' not the subject behind.
