Mixed Lighting

"Looking forward when everything is pulling me back" This is the first time I have shot in the rain and it was pretty fun, The 'cold' sunlight was so diffused by the clouds that the streetlights came on giving a nice warmth to the picture changing it from a cold depressed photo into something that has a small splash of happiness and hope which is why I chose that caption. I also posed Nathaniel so he is looking upwards towards where the streetlight is framed creating a happy and hopeful mood.

Painting With Light

"When life pushes you down you must get up and push back" In this photo I chose to use multiple flashes on a 15 second exposure to create multiple images on top of each other. On the left you can see Graydon is in a defensive position awaiting a strike from Deklan. As your eye travels to the left you see Deklan being pushed back by Graydon and the images of Graydon start to overpower Deklan until he is entirely out of frame giving the interpretation that Graydon won.

Back-lit, Single Light

"You have to face the darkness before you can find the light" My goal in this photo was to light half of Elliot's face so you can't see his eyes, I chose to shoot this picture outdoors so that the background would be lit by street lights and have a gloomy/ industrial feel.

Single Light

"Everyone has a dark side, but sometimes you have to look closely to see it" In this picture I used one light to give Isobel a strong shadow on the right side of her face. I angled the light and camera so that her one eye would reflect without lighting her eye after I darkened it in Lightroom.

2:1 "Perfect" Lighting

"Sometimes to see clearly you just have to let your mind wander until it finds its way out of the fog" Using 2:1 lighting I was able to achieve "perfect" light and eliminate all shadows.
